The conflict within comes from the dramatic changes in the roles of mothers and teachers over the last 40 years. Teachers are becoming more responsible for the education and social skills of the student instead of the mothers. With technological and cultural advances, there is less agreement among these entities. This conflict comes forth from the lack of trust between the two entities. While there is more trust between the two in certain classes, the majority stands: not enough trust. Parent involvement and communication are other reasons why there is a constant conflict between the two. Mothers only being involved in student education in elementary and not in secondary levels, mothers interfering with teacher’s authority, and societal expectations, all play a key role in why there is conflict among mothers and teachers.
